Advertising terms

A spot in the rotation on the TV screens inside Five Spice Indian Grocery, 680 River Oaks Pkwy, Ste P, San Jose. The screens run during store hours, every day 9 AM – 9 PM.

• Rail banner ($49 a month) — a 480×360 banner beside the produce prices on the produce board, in rotation with other sponsors, about 20 seconds per showing.
• Full screen ($99 a month) — a 1920×1080 slide on the front-of-store screens, about 12 seconds per showing in the home rotation.
• Rail + full screen ($149 a month) — both placements.

One image per placement (JPG or PNG). We resize and compress it for the screens. You can replace it any time from My account; every new image is reviewed before it goes up.

Every banner is reviewed by the store before it plays, usually the same day. We may ask for a change or decline a banner — for example if it is hard to read from a few metres away, makes claims we cannot stand behind, is not suitable for a family grocery store, or advertises something we do not want on our screens. We will tell you why by email and you can upload a new one. If you would rather we made the banner for you from your logo and a few lines, ask at the counter.

Your subscription is billed monthly to the card you enter, starting the day you subscribe and then on the same date each month, until you cancel. By starting a subscription you authorise Five Spice Indian Grocery to charge that card the monthly price of your plan on each billing date. Your card details are held by Square, our payment processor — they never touch our systems. Prices are in US dollars and include any applicable tax.

If a monthly charge fails, we email you and your banner stays up for 7 days while you update the card from My account. After that it comes down until a payment succeeds; the subscription is not cancelled and the banner goes back up as soon as a payment goes through.

Cancel any time from My account — no notice period, no call needed. Your banner stays on the screens until the end of the month you have already paid for, and you are not billed again. You can change your mind until that date.

Months already started are not refunded, with one exception: if we could not approve any banner of yours within 14 days of your first payment, we refund that first month in full. Taking your banner off the screens yourself (the "take it off for now" option) does not pause billing — cancel instead if you do not want to be charged.

We keep the screens on during store hours and share the number of times your banner played (My account shows plays per day and per screen). Those counts come from the TVs themselves and are our best record, not a guarantee of a particular number of showings. Screens are occasionally off for maintenance, power or internet problems; we do not credit for short outages. We may move, add or remove screens, and may take a banner down if it is causing a problem for the store — we will tell you if we do.

You are responsible for having the rights to everything in your banner (logos, photos, offers) and for the accuracy of what it says.

We keep your business name, your name, phone, email and the banners you upload, and we email you about your subscription: approvals, billing, cancellations and a monthly summary of plays. We do not sell or share this with anyone else. Square holds your card and sends its own receipts. To have your details removed after your campaign ends, email us or ask at the counter.
